Aids Walk in San Francisco: Join our team!
On Sunday, July 19th MIX IT UP will be attending the 2009 Aids Walk in S.F. We would love for you to join our team and you can do so by: going to our blog and clicking on the Join our team link under the Health section. You can also go to our direct Aids Walk page where you can join the team and make a donation.
This is going to be an exciting event that is sure to make a difference in the lives of others. We are hoping to have at least 25 people on our team by July 8th so that we can qualify for a team meeting station. The best part about this walk is that we set our own fund raising goal, there are no minimum fund raising goals.
So grab a friend and join us in the walk to help fight aids. The walk will take place on the morning of July 19th starting at 9 a.m. At 9:45 a.m. is the opening ceremony and at 10:30 is the walk. This 10k (6.2 mile) route goes through Golden Gate Park, starting and ending at Sharon Meadow. There will also be a concert afterwards and special guest. I have attached the quick facts page.
August
In August we will be attending the SF Zine Fest. What is SF Zine Fest? It is a free two-day conference for independent and underground publishing. The main focus is on zines but really anything thing that is DIY– comics, arts and crafts, literary presses, and more. The SF Zine Fest will be held on Saturday, August 22 & Sunday, August 23. MIX IT UP Magazine will have a booth at the SF Zine Fest so be sure to stop by.
